Today three designers for you.

To me it is always an adventure when I read about a new designer. And it is interesting to follow them, see their work mature and to see them come into their own. Sometimes being more bold and sometimes being more refined. Laura Villasenin of Miista.com is one of those designers, who went extremely bold this season for her second collection.

However, today I want to introduce you to three women who have designed some very fine footwear and launched their collections in 2007. It was a good year indeed!

Sandie Jancovek

Sandie Jancovek is a French designer of Slovak origin. She graduated in 1999 from Studio Bercot and was taken in by the house of Chanel as accessories designer.

After three years she moved to Sonia Rykiel and it was there that she started working with shoes. After her apprenticeship years she launched her own collection in 2007, under the name of Jancovek.
Her shoes are elegant yet very fun. The small details and the fine craftsmanship mixed with luxurious materials make these shoes very special.

Rense Hekstra - Atelier do Sapato

Atelier do Sapato was born early 2007 when Rense Hekstra, former buyer/designer of Dutch high street chain Invito teamed up with the ambitious owners of Portuguese shoe factory Macosmi. The name Atelier do Sapato literally means shoe workshop and it reflects the respect for the hand labour and craftsmanship of the men and women in the factory.

Some of the models for this season are also sold at DiCapolavori a fabulous Dutch on line shoe store.

annabel blomAnnabel Winship

Annabel Winship designs wildly fun, bold and creative shoes. They sparkle, they are sometimes loud but you cannot help but smile when you see them. Annabel is not just a very pretty face. She is a self taught designer who started making shoes in desperation after she could not find what she was looking for.

annabel 3

She wanted shoes that were comfortable, colourful and girly.

annabel 2

Shoes that were pretty but not necessarily sophisticated.

Annabel 1

Annabel uses leather, suede and natural materials and one of her favourite trade marks is the use of Liberty fabrics. These shoes are right up my alley.
