Alluring, Bedazzling and Captivating
In light of the article that Rena posted on Monday about the dubious talents of VIP's who may have had very little to do with the whole process of the design process of the shoes they attached their names to, I will just stick with the much more inspiring small independent designer.
Those designers who actually learned the trade, poured their heart and soul into their creations and produce beautiful and original works of art for your feet. Today another treasure from Great Britain.
Victoria Spruce graduated in 2010 with an MA in Womenswear Footwear from Royal College of Art. Her footwear carries a real wow factor. It is fascinating, innovative and highly unusual.
Influenced by sculpture and architecture these works of art indeed have a very sculptural and fluid feel. It is Ms. Spruce's belief that the upper and the heel should be thought of as one. This is beautifully illustrated in all her designs. She also states that 'she is only one of a few designers experimenting with new ways to make shoes, and when it finally comes to the forefront, she thinks it will be a very exciting time for footwear.
Here are some of the SS12 collection. I am curious to know what you think. I for one, am excited to see much more of Ms. Spruce's designs in the future.

Helena Siebert uit Vancouver, Canada, is een myfavouriteshoes fan van het eerste uur. Niet alleen is zij een fan van John Fluevog schoenen, zij houdt van alle schoenen met een twist. Het leek haar leuk om schrijvend haar passie voor schoenen met ons te delen. Het kan haar lekker niks schelen dat haar man, zoals de meeste mannen, ook niet zo van wedges houdt. Ze koopt en draagt ze met plezier. Haar Nederlands is een beetje te roestig, dus schrijft zij in het Engels. |
