Last Saturday it was that time again. A time I do not relish, I find a waste of money and consider sheer ugliness. I tried to get out of it, tried to find an alternative, tried to procrastinate just a few more weeks. I tried to justify using the cast off Van's from "zoon lief", which due to the lengthy lacing up process he hates. Telling myself that they had only been worn a handful of times and still had a lot of wear left. But the weather had turned and it could go on no longer.
Runners or sneakers
With trepidation I got in the car with hubby and went to the sports store to buy runners. Also known as sneakers in your part of the world.
By no means are hubby and I runners, but we do walk 5.5 km almost every day at a very good pace. So one of the most basic pieces of equipment needed by us was footwear with the proper fit, design and comfort. It sure makes a difference in walking in comfort but most of all it prevents unnecessary injuries. Being prone to these, I had no other choice. I came home with runners, and I hate to tell you but they are pink, I hate pink runners, but they were on sale.
I figured when out walking in these things, I am not about to impress anyone. Not only were they on sale but we got an extra 25 % discount just by asking.
I must, very secretly, admit that the walk is indeed much more comfortable, and we have been able to complete it in a significantly better time.
Now I am not here to show you runners, that would be such a waste of a post. I am sure the majority would agree with me on this. But I do want to show you some sneakers that would make for some comfortable city walking or just some out and about shoes when picking up the kids or getting the groceries.

Het leek haar leuk om schrijvend haar passie voor schoenen met ons te delen. Het kan haar lekker niks schelen dat haar man , zoals de meeste mannen, ook niet zo van wedges houdt. Ze koopt en draagt ze met plezier. Haar Nederlands is een beetje te roestig, dus schrijft zij in het Engels. |
